Death is never easy…..

I don't care how strong you are, how nonemotional you are, or how much you try to prepare yourself.

Death is not easy for anyone.

Today I am just so saddened because 2 of my fellow Trisomy moms posted that their children gained their wings last night and this morning.  This is something that is "common" on our Trisomy support boards.  This journey is always emotional.  The deaths seem to come in waves. We have weeks/months of good news and accomplishments and then all in a instant we lose 2-3 children at a time.  The groups that I'm a part of are VERY supportive. These families have been where we've been and some are going to where we just left. There's always questions about everything you can think of. These families are living the life that we are and the support is crucial to our journey.

I've become quite close with many of the families and I even started a Michigan Trisomy Families support group on Facebook. When they hurt, I hurt; when they are rejoice, we do as well; and when they lose, we lose.

I get so upset when I see the posts about death which is why I try to not frequent the boards as much. A couple times a week is all I can take sometimes. It's a weird feeling because as someone is posting about losing their child, I feel bad because for a brief moment I'm thankful it's not me (other moms have expressed this feeling as well so I'm not a horrible person for feeling like this).  However, I fully recognize how easily it could be me.

I try to love on Mylah as much as I can. I want to have no regrets should her time come and I am happy to say that as of today I have NONE.

When you pray today, please say a special prayer for the families of babies Maxwell (1) & Kinsley (7 months) and a special prayer of strength for their mothers.

Also a special prayer for the Brooks and Taylor families in their time of bereavement for their fathers.

"I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, though, and decision we make. Thief love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. Leo B."
